How to approach Note Completion
Note Completion gives you a set of notes that summarise part of the passage, with gaps to fill using words from the text within a word limit. The notes often use headings and bullet style layout that mirrors the passage structure, so the answers usually appear in order.

Read the note headings
The headings and layout show how the notes map onto the passage. Use them to find the right section.

Predict each missing word
Decide the part of speech and likely meaning of each gap from the surrounding words.

Find the matching section
Scan for the keyword near each gap and read that part of the passage closely.

Fill the gaps in order
Notes usually follow the passage order, so work through them top to bottom.

Respect the word limit
Use only the number of words allowed and copy them exactly from the text.
Common mistakes to avoid
✗Ignoring the note headings that signal the section.
✓Headings tell you where to look. Use the structure to find the answer fast.
✗Writing more words than the limit allows.
✓Count the words and stay within the stated limit.
✗Changing the form of the word from the passage.
✓Copy the word exactly. Do not alter the tense or number.
